In regards to fly fishing in BC, our northern winters allow us time to take stock of what we have, replenish supplies, re-organize tackle boxes and plan for this year's fishing trips. If you are like me, you took your fishing gear out of your vehicle after your final trip and put it into hiding for next season. Let me tell you, next season is almost here!
These large battery packs take up a lot of room and are pretty heavy, which adversely affects the fuel economy and the storage space in most hybrid cars. These batteries get their power from regenerative braking and/or from the gas engine. Also, they are very expensive, costing thousands of dollars to replace. Which is why they are guaranteed for the life of the car (read you warranty, some states make automakers guarantee the battery for 100,000 miles).
Tesla Roadster first started selling in 2008. It has a price tag of $111,000, it is a two-seater sports car. It is based on the Lotus Elise with a fiberglass body. This car is a rocket, it can accelerate from zero to 60 in under four seconds. It has a range of 245 miles with a massive 53-kilowatt-hour battery pack. Full charge takes 3.5 hours on a proprietary 240-Volt 70 amp charger. It has a very stiff and jarring ride with a very basic interior. It is awkward climbing into the cockpit because of the tall wide sill. The loud battery-cooling fans emit a constant lithium battery stocks roar behind you. Tesla is developing a lower cost $50,000+ model S sedan expected to be released in 2012.
When it's time to buy a new lithium ion battery, be sure you're buying one that's new (as in recently produced). Just like fruit has a shelf-life, so do batteries and just like you want to buy fresh produce, you also want to invest in "fresh" lithium ion cells. Check the date-code on the battery or packaging to ensure you're not buying a pack that's been degrading for a year on some shelf.
Microsoft is soon to release their latest graphic Lithium battery stocks game version of the Xbox with the all new Project Natal which includes a collection of features that are down-right spooky. Just your regular old voice recognition, and face recognition and a virtual character who can also recognize your emotional state. Mix in some drop dead graphics and amazing (I mean jaw dropping) virtual interaction and if you aren't transported back to planet Klingon then you're long due for a Vulcan Mind-meld.
Apple has an official out-of-warranty battery replacement program Lithium mines Ontario for shipping in the United States(see Europe and Canada pricing The policy requires that you send in your iPod any model and Apple will change the battery and ship it to you for plus handling and shipping. Technically, Apple in reality exchanges your whole unit with an equivalent original model or factory-refurbished model in a brand new cover, with its own 90-day service warranty; if it was previously engraved by Apple, it will be engraved again.
So how long does it last? Anything from 3 to 9 years if you search this question on Google. Everyone has a different opinion. In my experience about 6 years is the average. It's basically a large watch battery and is constantly supplying a trickle of power to the motherboard. Just like many of my watches the battery can last 2 years or up to 6 years (Fossil watches don't seem to last long for me for some reason). How long was the PC in the warehouse before it was delivered? And, how long was the motherboard in the warehouse before it was installed in the PC?
So, there you have it; some simple suggestions on how to extend the life of your cell phone battery. Although it's not a going to double or triple the life of your battery, following these guidelines will make it much easier on you and cause less aggravation in the long run.
